Santorini
Located it the Aegean Sea and world renowned for being “the island of love,” Santorini offers breathtaking views everyday of the year. It’s volcanic beaches and traditional, Cycladic white-washed homes built on dramatic cliffs compose a stunning landscape that could leave anyone mesmerized. Walking down any of the picturesque alleys one embraces the contrast of the dark, volcanic rocks and the blissfully calm, blue waters of the sea seen from nearly every corner and every turn. It feels like walking into a postcard that came to life. Every doorway is captivating. Every sunset is alluring. Every meal is delicious, and the locals, maybe inspired by the colors of the sky, never miss a beat to promote their land and welcome you with open arms.
Beginning our stay at the very lovely Santo Pure in Oia and ending our trip at what is now one of my favorite hotels of all time, The Vasilicos in Imerovigli, made for a wonderful greek holiday. Whether it was hiking a volcano, watching the sun rise or even taking the wrong bus-there was an adventure at every corner. It rained on our last day but we didn’t let that slow us down. The beauty of the island is simply undeniable and we look forward to exploring more of Greece’s captivating charm in the future. Efcharisto, Santorini.
